Natural Remedy for Kitten's Eye Infections

Natural remedies for your pet are not only just as effective as prescriptions, but will save you tons of money not having to go to the vet! This is what worked for me and I wanted to share it because natural alternatives are so much better AND CHEAPER!

These are the symptoms my kitty had:

-one eye closed shut
-white goop oozing from his eye
-swollen eye

*Eye medicine from your feed store!!!*

First, check out your local feed/farming store and pick up some medicine for eye infections. Yes, feed stores sell them! No need for the vet to get it! So, I picked up some NFZ eye powder that helps clear kitties eye infections and I put the powder directly into the kittens about twice a day. However, the powder will dry up the eye and make the eye closed more and harder to open so when I used this I alternated inserting the powder and rubbing his eye with a warm wash rag to open the eye back up.

*Warm tea bag!!! (best method)*

What helped the MOST was a warm tea bag!! Heat up some water in a cup and insert a tea bag as if you were making a cup of tea. Once its made and STILL WARM take out the tea bag and check to make sure its NOT TOO HOT. (just warm!) And then simply hold the warm tea bag directly against the kittens eye as if you were holding an ice pack against a sore. Let the tea from the tea bag drip into kitten's eye. Any tea should work, I used black tea! Why tea helps is that it has a BUNCH of anti oxidants in it and of course helps the immune system. Tea is wonderful! After only 2 days of using the tea bag method twice a day, his eye was COMPLETELY CLEARED UP! And the infection has not returned!

*Kitten Milk Supplement!!*

Also, when the kittens are still babies and nursing - remember to supplement the nursing mother kitty and/or kittens with some kitten milk supplement you can buy from the feed/farming store as well. There are so many vitamins in this, it will help the kitten's immune system - thus keeping infections away!

That is what worked for me, however, there are so many reasons for a kitten's eye infections so if these natural remedies don't work for you - it might be a seriously BAD issue, and please take your kitten to the vet! If waited too long without treatment whether natural or prescription, blindness and/or permanent damage to the kitten's eye can happen.
